Getting Started:

If this is the first time you've visited this online Procedures Manual please read through our Getting Started with this Procedures Manual guidance to familiarise yourself with the layout and functions.

Welcome to the web-enabled Break Charity Procedures Manual.

These procedures relate to the 4 areas of service provision with the care division at Break, namely:

  • Residential services;
  • Fostering services;
  • Unregulated community services.

The procedures are designed to be consistent with our regulatory and statutory requirements and also with localised Break requirements.

Within the procedures the wording may refer to children's homes – unless this relates specifically to a Children's home regulation please read this as a generic term which relates to all our services. Similarly the terms “child” “children” and “young people” may be interchanged where appropriately to “Service user”, to ensure that services for vulnerable adults are covered.

Policies or procedures that relate to all of the organisation can be found on Cascade – where appropriate there will be a hyperlink within the tri.x procedures to Cascade.

It has been designed for new and existing staff and foster carers and deals with the day to day practicalities you may face.
